Information

Argolida is a prefecture situated in the central and eastern part of the Peloponnese. It borders with Corinthia (north), Arcadia (south)  and it is near the islands of the Saronic Gulf (east). The capital city is Nafplio. The highest mountains are Oligyrtos, Lyrkeio and Arachnaio.
Historically, Argolida is one of the most important areas in Peloponnese and in the area you will find many ancient sites and ruins to visit. There are also many beautiful beaches, which make this area a perfect destination for your summer holidays.

The charming city of Nafplio is ideal for a romantic weekend and is easily accessible from Athens. The neoclassical buildings by the seashore and the medieval fortress are a beautiful site and you will enjoy walking around this lovely city. The coastal resort of Tolo is close to Nafplio and it is famous for the sandy beaches and the restaurants by the seaside. For history and art lovers Nafplio is very close to some of the most significant sites of Greece: the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus and the archaeological site of Mycenae. Some of the most famous coastal resorts are Porto Heli and Kranidi and they also offer an easy access to the Saronic Gulf Islands.
